Doelstelling


Summary of the OPROCS project:

The Older persons Relevant Outcome of Care Score (OPROCS) project has the aim to construct a preference-weighted composite endpoint (CEP) based on the health state preferences of older persons, informal caregivers and healthcare professionals.

The CEP is multidimensional and combines eight components derived from the TOPICS-MDS*: morbidities, functional limitations, emotional well-being, pain experience, cognitive functioning, self-perceived health, and self-perceived quality of life.

Benefits of using this CEP (called TOPICS-CEP) is that the overall value of interventions can be indexed in a standardized manner which makes the evaluation process of various interventions or research projects easier and more objective.

*TOPICS-MDS

The Older Persons and Informal Caregivers Survey - Minimal DataSet (TOPICS-MDS) was developed within the National Care for the Elderly Program (NCEP). It is a measurement instrument that includes multiple validated instruments which are used to assess various outcome domains.

Even voorstellen: Cynthia Hofman, Junior Onderzoeker OPROCS project

Wie?
Mijn naam is Cynthia Hofman en ik werk als junior onderzoeker op de afdelingen Geriatrie en EBH van het UMC St Radboud. Voordat ik hier kwam werken heb ik de studie Neuro- en Revalidatiepsychologie gevolgd aan de Radboud Universiteit. Deze heb ik begin 2010 succesvol afgerond.


Wat?
Het onderzoeksproject waar ik me de komende jaren mee bezig ga houden wordt het OPROCS project genoemd. OPROCS staat voor: Older People’s Relevant Outcome of Care Score en is gericht op het achterhalen van wat ouderen zelf belangrijk vinden rond de zorg die zij ontvangen. Indirect vragen wij hen: “Waar moet de juiste zorg toe leiden?”
